Samantha Ellenberger

Samantha is a 2nd year intern at the Agency for Clinical Innovation.

Samantha has completed rotations within:

- STEPP where she learned about Redesign and AIM methodologies

- PRISM where she worked on the Respiratory Network (during the Delta and Omicron responses) and with the team implementing the NSW Telestroke Service

- the CE Office where she reported on the ACI’s Performance Agreement Deliverables

Highlights of these rotations included visiting Cooma Hospital as part of the Telestroke kick-off meeting and visiting Lismore Hospital as part of the Respiratory Network’s COVID education offering.

Samantha holds a Bachelor of Economic and Social Science (USYD), a Bachelor of Dentistry (USYD) and a Grad Cert in Medical and Health Leadership (UoW). She worked as a dentist for five years, over which time she became increasingly aware that patient outcomes could be improved by changes to the health system. Samantha hopes to learn from experienced health leaders and improve her own health management skills, so as to enable her to drive change and improve patient outcomes. She believes strongly in collaboration, and that everyone has something valuable to offer regardless of their background.

 

Laura Zhang

Laura is a first year intern placed with eHealth NSW, a government agency focused on delivering a digitally enabled healthcare system. Her first rotation is in the Office of the Chief Executive / Chief Information Officer.

Laura completed a Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne. After graduating, she worked at the Big Four professional services firms, where she advised companies on claiming government incentives for research and development activities. She spent six years working internationally in London and New York before returning home to Australia in 2020.

Interested in transitioning into a career in healthcare, Laura applied for the program to develop an understanding of the public health system, and to learn from experienced healthcare leaders and innovators. Laura is grateful for the opportunity to join eHealth NSW and to support digital initiatives aimed at enhancing patient experiences and health outcomes.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys travelling, watching musicals, and trying new restaurants with friends.

Simone Stewart Noble

Simone is a 1st year intern placed with Mid North Coast Local Health District & her first rotation is with the People & Culture Directorate. Simone has strong interpersonal skills, enjoys working with others and finds project management – in particular stakeholder engagement and management professionally rewarding. She has strong values around family and people, and values others input in collaborative work projects.

Simone has a professional history in frontline Clinical Nursing & Midwifery, Education and Facilitation and Nursing, Midwifery and Aged Care management roles. Simone holds a Bachelor of Nursing, Graduate Diploma of Midwifery, and a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Redesign. She is also completing a Bachelor of Healthcare with Professional Honors in Clinical Redesign which has been put on hold whilst undergoing the internship.

As a young nurse Simone felt the need to help others and make a difference in other people’s lives. Over time her career ambitions have grown to making a difference for our future generations, and believes in safe and quality consumer driven healthcare and services.

Ben Wilcox

Ben is a 2nd year Health Management intern with eHealth NSW. First year rotations included placements with Service Delivery and the Office of the Chief Executive working on cyber-privacy and business planning. Highlights, to date, were engaging industry experts to develop privacy procedures and managing an org.-wide Senior Leadership Forum at the Aerial UTS Function Centre.

Ben graduated from Edith Cowan University with honours in Communications & Cultural Studies, and thereafter from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and from the University of Western Australia with honours in Biochemistry.

Ben has worked for allied health organisations providing orthopedic and medical-imaging services in clinical and non-clinical settings. Ben has experience working in metro and regional areas across WA and NSW and is driven to continually improve the performance of health services across Australia.

Ben's ambition to broaden his understanding and influence in the healthcare sector led him to apply for the HMIP, which will offer him a unique opportunity to elevate his managerial skills and learn from elite industry leaders in the public healthcare system. Outside of work, Ben enjoys diving, basketball and rock climbing.

Sophie Lim

Sophie is a 1st year Health Management intern placed with NSW Ambulance. During Sophie’s first year she will rotate through Learning and Development, Office of the Chief Executive and Clinical Operations.

Sophie completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy)(Hons) from the University of Sydney. She worked clinically as a physiotherapist in both public and private sectors and as an area sales manager for a global company. Her drive to improve clinical outcomes as well as optimize health processes led her to apply for the HMIP.

Sophie recognizes the amazing opportunity the program presents to gain experience in health management as well as learn from highly experienced and knowledgeable people in the industry. 

Outside of work, Sophie enjoys Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, scuba diving and hiking.
