We are mindful of the significant challenges, and insights, that the COVID-19 pandemic has continued to manifest for health manager leaders throughout 2022. For many, it has been an incredibly tough couple of years. Thank you for your service to your teams and communities across NSW.

In 2020, we recognised and celebrated the valuable and diverse contributions of health manager leadership within NSW and across all health service contexts. In 2021, we recognised outstanding leaders in the Aged Care Sector.
This year, the ACHSM NSW Branch Health Manager Leadership Recognition Awards will focus on recognising those health manager leaders who have demonstrated a commitment to wellbeing.

Specifically, we are looking for your assistance in recognising leaders who role model healthy habits and who create a work climate supportive of the total health of oneself, including monitoring internal and external environments for opportunities to improve. Demonstrating a commitment to well-being is a feature of the recently revised ACHSM Competency Framework.

Health manager and leader wellbeing falls within the Enabling Competency of Self Awareness and Self Confidence. The Competency Cramework reflects the personal attributes of a health manager and health leader, which are what differentiates healthcare leadership as a profession.

Leadership happens at every level. Click on the nomination link below and tell us, in a few paragraphs, about a Health Manager colleague, peer or friend working in NSW who has displayed an outstanding commitment to wellbeing.

Recognition Awards eligibility criteria include:

  • The person nominated must work and reside in NSW
  • Have shown outstanding leadership with a specific focus on well-being in 2022
  • Do not have to be an ACHSM member

There will be no single winner of the Recognition Award. ALL nominated Health Managers who meet the above criteria, will be publicly recognised and receive a Recognition Award at the awards event later in 2022.

Please use the below below to submit your nomination(s) by COB, Friday 18 November 2022.

If you have any questions, contact ACHSM NSW Branch Executive Officer Alison Fellows.
