We developed the Certification program to provide professional credentialing to health managers and leaders.
The program is part of our strategy to increase advocacy for the health management profession through professional growth and development. Please see links further down for an overview of the strategic plan from College President Dr Neale Fong.
The Certification program supports our mission to “develop, equip and support high-performing health, community and aged care leaders to deliver quality services and improve community health and wellbeing”.
In 2019 the Australasian College of Health Service Management (the College) Board and executive reviewed the strategic future of the organisation.
At the 2019 Asia-Pacific Congress, ACHSM President Dr Neale Fong announced the introduction of ACHSM's Certification program.
The difference between Certified Health Manager (CHM) and Certified Health Executive (CHE) is that Associate Fellows are CHMs and Fellows are CHEs.
If you complete Certification as an Associate Fellow you received the CHM postnominal. If you go on the complete the Fellowship program, your postnominal is automatically upgraded to CHE on completion of Fellowship. If you are already a Fellow when you undertake Certification, your postnominal is CHE from the beginning.
Both require logging your Maintenance of Certification (MOC) points to maintain your Certified status.
