The Health Management Internship Program (HMIP) offers committed, high-potential Interns the opportunity to develop the skills, competencies and knowledge required to start a career in managing the challenges and complexities of health service delivery.
Throughout the two years of the program, Management Interns are exposed to a variety of different workplace and educational opportunities.
While the program is administered independently by ACHSM Branches in states where it operates (currently NSW, Queensland and Victoria) it has historically been known under different names in different states (such as Graduate Health Management Program or Management Residency Program).
HMIP is well-positioned to develop the middle management tier in the healthcare sector. Although the terms of each participating state’s program vary, HMIP focuses on key benefits for Health Management Interns, such as:
